For 60 years we have strived to provide the latest Low Ground Pressure machinery to specialist sectors throughout the UK.

As a family owned and run business, we take exceptional pride in everying we do. As both a Plant Hire and Contracting company we understand the level of service and quality of machines required to deliver exceptional results every time.

Our wide tracked excavators are perfect for construction work in sensitive environments including golf courses, sports grounds, moorlands/heathlands, peatbogs,  nature reserves and near water bodies. We can offer tilt rotate and power tilt units to a range of machine sizes.

For over 30 years we have been running the Hydrema low ground pressure articulated dump trucks as a mainstay of our hire fleet. We first realised the benefits of these compact trucks when working on our own golf course construction contracts across the UK. Our 6 wheel 20 tonne Hydrema trucks are an ideal alternative to standard 25 tonne ADTs when ground conditions are soft. The Hydrema trucks offer significant fuel saving advantages in comparison to standard trucks too. We can also offer “High Mobility” 12 tonne truck options fitted with the same 800mm wide floatation tyres as the larger 922s.

LGP machines have the ability to continue to work in wet and soft ground conditions, which helps to maximise productivity even in inclement weather.

We are proud to be SafeContractor approved, CHAS accredited and are holders of the FORS Bronze award for our Transport operations.

All our plant is hired out under CPA Hire conditions, a copy of the terms and conditions are availbale upon request.

 We used the Hydrema 922 dump truck on our site and found it very beneficial. We will definitely be hiring through them again. The floatation tyres on the Hydrema 922c proved vital in the wet weather maintaining a low ground pressure while managing to easily move large loads across boggy terrain. Covid-19

We wish to reassure our valued customers that we are still open for business to assist and provide you with specialist low ground pressure Plant Hire and Haulage services when required.

In view of the current global pandemic of Coronavirus and the Government restrictions and requirements put in place, we recognise our responsibilities and duties to keep our staff, clients and visitors as safe as possible and therefore have adopted with immediate effect the following working practises at our office and depot:

  • Travel is being kept to a minimum, and where practicable single occupants in a vehicle.
  • All face to face meetings, site visits etc have been cancelled or rearranged to be carried out via telephone or internet link
  • Handwashing and hygiene measures as advised by the Government have been implemented with immediate effect.
  • Posters and information about coronavirus have been displayed around our premises
  • Staff working on hire at sites to fully comply with Government guidelines of staying 2metres apart, regular handwashing etc.
  • Soap, warm water, hand sanitizer and spray and wipes are available to all staff and visitors.
  • Staff that can work from home are doing so
  • Door handles, light switches, hard surfaces such as desks are being cleaned regularly using spray bleach and wipes.
  • All machines arriving back at depot from sites are being thoroughly cleaned – including steering wheel, door handles, levers, controls etc. Workers are wearing gloves and regular handwashing is being carried out.
  • Visitors kept to a minimum and are reminded of 2 metre social distance rule.

We will continue to review our activities on a regular basis and add to the above as necessary to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, clients and visitors. It is the commitment of AJK Plant Hire Ltd as a company to do whatever is necessary to comply with the Governments advise during these difficult times.
